Sacks Thrift Emergency Voucher Program
The Emergency Voucher Program is for anyone in financial need of basic necessities, such as clothing and bedding. Partnering agencies may use the program by
issuing vouchers for qualifying individuals or families.
Sacks is 100% self-funded through the sales of merchandise generously donated by the community.

To Receive a Voucher:

- Voucher value is $40.00 store-credit for one adult, or 20.00 per child up to a maximum combined value of 120.00 for a household. Children must be present to use additional value and may not be added after initial redemption. A form of identification will be requested for verification. In lieu of available identification, Sacks may contact the referring Agency to verify the recipient.
- Limited to one voucher per six-month period; multiple vouchers may not be combined.
- Sacks does not receive funding to support the voucher program. Sacks reserves the right to refuse a voucher that is incomplete, has been altered, or if it is determined the recipient is abusing the program.
- Voucher does not need to be used all at once, remaining balance will be recorded internally
- Sacks Thrift is unable to guarantee the availability of particular items, nor store your items.
- Vouchers may not be used on Half Price Saturday, items priced 20.00 or more, or marked ND (no discount). Vouchers have no cash value: items acquired with a voucher cannot be returned or exchanged
- Qualifying items: Clothing,outerwear, shoes, bed sheets, blankets, pillowcases, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, tents, pots, pans, kitchen utensils, cups, plates, coolers, alarm clocks, pen/pencils/paper, hats, gloves, camp stoves, scarves, children's books, phone chargers, backpacks, socks, underwear.
To Receive a Voucher:
- Nonprofit staff or volunteers may refer a client to Sacks to receive a Voucher in one of two ways:
- Complete a Voucher Form with the client(s); they may now bring this completed form into the store and give it to the cashier BEFORE gathering items. To receive a copy of the form for your organization , please email [email protected].
- Write a short letter explaining why the client(s) are in need of items and your relationship to them (case manager, etc.). Please sign and send with them to the store.

- If you or someone you know is in need of a voucher, come to Sacks during store hours and speak to the cashier. They will give you a form and explain the rules.
